Mei-Ling Tung, M.S.W., Ph.D, Tabbed to Manage Student Professional Development and Internship Placements for HMP Department

The Saint Louis University College for Public Health and Social Justice names Mei-Ling Tung, M.S.W., Ph.D., to manage the student professional development and internship placements in the Department for Health Management and Policy.

In her new role Dr. Tung will identify, gather and report all professional development and internship reporting metrics in accordance with our CAHME accreditation requirements.  She will also be responsible for cultivating alumni and preceptor relationships, a role in which she has a proven track record.

In an effort to identify other job placement/employment opportunities, Tung will conduct and evaluate Professional Rounds and Internship sessions for the HMP students.

Dr. Tung earned her BSW degree at Soochow University in Taipei, Taiwan, and her M.S.W. degree from Washington University in St. Louis.  In 2018, she completed her Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration at Saint Louis University.

Additionally, she is an adjunct assistant professor with the China Trust Commercial Bank College of Business Management in Taiwan. There, she designs lesson plans with an emphasis on helping students gain an understanding of the impact of the international political environment on financial industries around the globe and how culture impacts leadership and communication.

Dr. Tung is also an International Collaboration Consultant with East West Best, Inc. in St. Louis, where she works closely with international alumni chapters to create events to promote SLU as well as working to arrange research collaborations, exchange student and visiting scholar programs. Tung has also been a Business Partner in the Joint Family Adult Daycare in Taiwan since 2000.
