Enard Appointed Program Committee Chair for American Public Health Association Section

Kimberly R. Enard, Ph.D., assistant professor of health management and policy at Saint Louis University's College for Public Health and Social Justice, has been appointed as the new chair of the program committee of the American Public Health Association’s (APHA’s) Community Health Planning and Policy Development (CHPPD) section. As program chair, Enard will manage the development and organization of the CHPPD section’s scientific and policy program for APHA's November 2018 annual meeting "Creating the Healthiest Nation: Health Equity Now."

In addition to managing the section’s call for and review of annual meeting abstracts, Enard will also oversee the process of creating sessions from similar submissions, ensuring that each session has a moderator, coordinating program plans with other sections, caucuses, forums and other logistics.

The mission of the CHPPD section is to develop and advocate for health planning, policies and practices to promote health equity, community empowerment and social justice. Through the annual meeting and other section activities, CHPPD works to foster continued discourse, interdisciplinary collaboration and translation of practice to policy. With more than 4,000 members, CHPPD is the third largest APHA section.

Enard is a health services researcher with extensive academic- and community-based experience in engaging stakeholders across multiple disciplines and settings in planning, implementing and evaluating patient-centered programs. She is a fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives and has more than 15 years of management and consulting experience with large integrated health systems.
