Recent Master of Public Health Internships

Master of Public Health students at Saint Louis University complete an internship with a public health organization, domestically or internationally, that matches their practice or research interests. We have hundreds of internships opportunities available, including over 60 locally.
The internships are designed to help students apply their public health skills from
the classroom in a community setting. They also allow students to network, building
important professional connections that help guide students early in their careers.
Any Master of Public Health student can choose to do an internship internationally;
more than 90% of our global health students do so in places such as Kenya, Switzerland
and Ecuador.

Meet Recent Interns
Shawn Merrillat, M.P.H. ‘18
Shawn Merrillat, M.P.H. ‘18, graduated SLU with concentrations in global health and environmental and occupational health. While pursuing his M.P.H. at SLU, he completed an internship with the World Health Organization in Phnom Penh, Cambodia. He attended meetings at the Ministry of Health to discuss and finalize the Cambodia Climate Change and Health and Disaster Risk Reduction Alignment Document.
Victoria Umstattd Cope, M.P.H. ‘18
Victoria Umstattd Cope, M.P.H. ‘18, graduated SLU with a concentration in maternal and child health. While pursuing her M.P.H. at SLU, Cope worked with Generate Health, a nonprofit organization in St. Louis focused on improving maternal and child health. She focused on the Fetal Infant Mortality Review initiative, which included analyzing regional data related to infant mortality and assisting in the preparation of Case Review Team meetings.
Savannah Jordan, M.P.H. ‘18
Savannah Jordan, M.P.H. ‘18, graduated SLU with a concentration in global health and earned a competitive spot with the Institute for Public Health’s summer research program. She worked in Uganda, conducting interviews with female sex workers and their communities.
