Honors and Awards
Choi received the NSF CAREER Award from the National Science Foundation in 2003 and the University of Colorado Denver Award for Excellence in Research and Creative Activities in 2006. His research was supported by funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), National Institute of Health (NIH), DARPA, Silicon Graphics, Alzheimer’s Association, CASI, Laser Tech, and Microsoft.
Community Work and Service
Choi joined Saint Louis University in the fall of 2024 as a professor and chair of computer science. He has been a faculty member at the University of Colorado Denver for 25 years, serving the university as the director of the computer graphics and VR laboratory and the founding director of the Comcast Media and Technology Center.
