Marketing and Promotion

As a program partner, high schools and coordinators play an important role in advertising the program to their high school communities. This may involve hosting parent nights, distributing flyers, speaking to students in classrooms and more.

The 1818 Program office offers various levels of support to both local and distance partners to facilitate marketing and advising efforts.

Below you’ll find various resources to aid in the facilitation of the program. These resources are updated each semester to reflect all new registration terms and promotional events.

SLU-Led Promotional Events

Each year, the 1818 Program office offers the following events to support student and parent advising of dual credit before and during registration:

  • Parent Nights (in-person/virtual) an 1818 staff member will present to parents the meaning of dual credit, how it compares to other early college opportunities, and how dual credit may benefit their student.
  • Student Nights (in-person/virtual) an 1818 staff member or current SLU student will present to students the meaning of dual credit, what it means to take college credit in high school, college immersion opportunities through the program, and available 1818 credit opportunities at their specific high school.
  • Classroom registration support (in-person/virtual) an 1818 staff member will work jointly with the high school instructor/coordinator to facilitate registration during an offered class period.
  • Saint Louis University/1818 Program Rally Days (in-person) an 1818 staff member will attend a school-wide event to promote Saint Louis University and/or the 1818 Program at large. Depending on availability, SLU swag and Billiken mascot may be included in this event opportunity.

If your school or classroom is interested having SLU host any of the above events, please contact 1818@slu.edu as early as possible; preferably the semester before you intend to offer the event.
