Student Success Center

Student Success Center

The Saint Louis University Student Success Center (SSC) supports students in reaching their goals. The Student Success Center houses both Academic Support and the Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources (CADR) in the Busch Student Center, Suite 331. SLU students can make an appointment with SSC resources via EAB Navigate.

Academic Support

Nobody said college would be easy, but the resources in Academic Support are here to help.

  • Tutoring is available to guide students through the challenges of many of SLU’s foundation-level courses.
  • Supplemental instruction (SI) provides regularly scheduled, out-of-class, peer-facilitated group study sessions for specific lecture classes.
  • University Writing Services is committed to supporting student writing through one-on-one consultation, workshops and writing retreats.
  • Student success coaching assists students in developing strategies to address challenges in and out of the classroom.

You can schedule individual tutoring sessions, writing consultations, and success coaching appointments through EAB Navigate. No appointments are necessary for Supplemental Instruction sessions.

Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources

The Center for Accessibility and Disability Resources (CADR) partners with students, faculty, academic departments and service providers to ensure that students have equal access and opportunity to all University programs, services and experiences.

CADR coordinates aids and services to meet the needs of students with disabilities. We aim to create a safe and supportive campus community for all SLU students. All inquiries about the availability of university-related accommodations are kept confidential and should be addressed to accessibility_disability@slu.edu.

The Student Success Center Mission

As educators focused on the holistic development of students, we take a values-driven approach to each student interaction and to the design of each service or program:

  • Commitment to lifelong learning: Students demonstrate effective academic skills and behaviors and commit to the process of learning both in and out of the classroom.
  • Personal responsibility: Students take personal responsibility for their academic aspirations, are thoughtful about their own behaviors and decisions, and are intentional about the goals they set and the means by which they plan to attain those goals.
  • Meaningful relationships: We work to make students feel individually valued, including their personal identities and traits, and support them as they form meaningful interpersonal connections with others on campus.
