Starting the fall 2024 term, both incoming and continuing students at Saint Louis University-Madrid will be able to pursue a Bachelor of Arts in Theological Studies — or double-major in it.

Spain may be the best place to study theology since the co-existence of Christians, Jews and Muslims can be seen just by walking down nearby Toledo's streets.

SLU-Madrid is also located in the same country where St. Ignatius of Loyola, the founder of the Jesuit order, was born. Every semester, the University offers an interfaith retreat to Loyola in the Basque Country near St. Ignatius' childhood home.

The 33-credit program includes courses from three main areas of study: sacred texts, religious traditions and religious ethics. All students are able to choose from a range of elective courses that count toward the degree.

As a Jesuit institution, one theology course is required for all undergraduate students regardless of major, making it the perfect time for students to consider pursuing SLU-Madrid's B.A. in Theological Studies.
