Library Event Policy

Purpose

The purpose of library events is to contribute to the intellectual and cultural environment of the University Libraries and the greater university community.

Scope and Nature of Events

Library events are intended to reflect and highlight research, programs, curricula, or the campus life of Saint Louis University using library materials. Although beliefs and viewpoints expressed in the events belong to the event coordinators and do not necessarily represent the opinions of the Pius/Services/Events/Exhibits Committee or Saint Louis University Libraries, events will be consistent with the University’s educational philosophy and ideals and be fair and equitable concerning issues of potential controversy.

Event Space

All events are located on the second floor of Pius Library.

Application Procedure

Submit an online application describing the purpose of the event, preferred dates for the event and applicants contact information. The event proposal should be submitted at least eight weeks prior to the proposed beginning date the event. Applications will be evaluated by the Pius/Services/Events/Exhibits Committee. Applicants will be informed by email within three weeks of submitting their request in regard to the acceptance and scheduling of their proposed event.
